FORTINET SECURITY PROCESSING MODULES
Security Processing Modules for FortiGate® Multi-Threat Security Systems
Fortinet ADM-XE2 and ASM-CE4 security processing modules provide multi-gigabit throughput increases for intrusion prevention, firewall, and IP multicast applications. Both models are based on the carrier-class Advanced Mezzanine Card™ (AMC) specification used in enterprise-class FortiGate multi-threat security platforms. The ADM-XE2 is a dual-width AMC module for 10-Gigabit Ethernet networks. The ASM-CE4 is a single-width AMC module for 10/100/1000 Ethernet networks. Fortinet security processing modules work to increase overall system performance by offloading select security applications and network processing functions from the FortiGate host system while maintaining all the benefits of a unified security platform.
Key Features and Benefits
- The security and network processor capabilities relieve processing burden from the FortiGate host system for intrusion prevention, firewall, and IP multicast applications. The module offloads inspection duties for these applications for traffic traversing the module's network interfaces, and thus increases the combined system's performance.
- The modular form factors of the security processing modules empower customers with the ability to build the ideal system configuration, or upgrade an existing system with an available AMC expansion bay.
- Integration with the FortiOS system allows users to fully realize the benefits of security consolidation with the wide array of multi-threat security features offered by FortiGate and FortiOS solutions.
